Balt Yacht 818 now available with electric propulsion

Thu 19 February 2026

The popular Balt Yacht 818 Titanium is now available with a fully electric propulsion system. Powered by the latest X20 20kw electric outboard, which is comparable to a 34 hp (propulsion power) and 50 hp (thrust) conventional petrol engine. The large 23.5 kWh battery pack offers over 10 hours cruising on a single charge, at 4knots (2200w).

Comfortable and intuitive operation - The X Series’ digital helm and smart throttles, with instant digital feedback, are responsive and easy to use, even for boating beginners.

Integrated electrical control - The X Series’ electric steering eliminates the need for hydraulics, simplifying installation and maintenance.

Advanced sailing assistance features - Integrated electrical controls enable automated functions such as "Position Hold," "Heading Hold," and "360 Motions" for added safety and ease of use. More features will be added in the future.

Connectivity - The built-in ePropulsion Connectivity Service keeps you in touch with the real-time status of your boat and provides advanced monitoring, reporting, and voyage tracking features.

Ultra-low noise and vibration - With a maximum noise level of 73 dBA, X Series outboards are quieter than most offices! Thanks to advanced dampening technology and frequency resonance isolation, this means you can enjoy more of the water, without shouting at each other or scaring away wildlife.

Environmentally friendly - X-Series outboards are emission-free. Compared to a 60hp petrol outboard running at full power for 100 hours, an X40 would save 1,900 litres of petrol and 4.3 tonnes of CO₂ pollution.
